Introducing… The Trans Voice Initiative!

The Trans Voice Initiative (TVI) is a volunteer organization of transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming speech-language pathologists who want to create a safe space for TGNC SLPs to grow their skills and knowledge in gender-affirmative voice and communication. 

The field of speech-language pathology urgently needs highly skilled and intersectional leadership of trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming individuals, particularly in the area of gender affirming voice. Our goal is to continue to open the gates for intersectional trans leadership in the field of speech-language pathology, and ultimately, drastically improve the quality of care to the transgender community. While this training is initially only for TGNC individuals, the greater field will benefit immensely from the highly skilled leadership emerging from this project.

In this forum, the TVI contributors will share who they are, what they want to do with this initiative, and why it’s so critically important.
