Survey of Knowledge and Current Practices Regarding Medical Voice Referral and Voice Disorders Among Singing Voice Teachers This study is being conducted through the University of Miami Voice Center. The aim of the study is to understand how singing voice teachers utilize their knowledge of the medical voice team (laryngology and speech pathology) and voice disorders. The survey should only take about 5-10 minutes to complete. Anyone over the age of 18 who self-identifies as a singing/voice teacher is welcome to participate. Exploring Melisma
in Contemporary Popular Music Practice and Pedagogy
You are invited to participate in a study of melisma in Contemporary Popular Music Styles (CPM, also known as CCM). The purpose of the study is to understand how melisma and ornamentation is used, learnt, taught, and viewed in CPM singing styles.
The research is being conducted by Joanna Fabro, to meet the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, under the supervision of Prof. Diane Hughes of the School of Humanities, Faculty of Arts, Macquarie University (P: +61 2 9850 2175).
If you decide to participate, you will be asked to complete an anonymous online survey. The survey will take between 15-30 minutes to complete. Questions ask about your personal views and use of melisma in relation to style, aesthetic values, and learning and teaching methods. Questions 1-4 relate to your background and are for contextual purposes. No preparation or specialist knowledge is needed to take part.
To participate in this study, you must be over the age of 18 and be a singer or singing teacher who predominantly sings or teaches CPM styles and is living in the USA, UK, or Australia. Participation in this study is entirely voluntary.

A Survey of Knowledge of Voice Development, Fach, and Psychosocial Development
Participants needed for a research survey! The Voice, Emotion, Cognition Lab is seeking choir directors, voice teachers, and voice therapists ages 18-90 who have completed at least a bachelor’s degree in voice performance, pedagogy, or music education for research surveying training and current knowledge of vocal development, fach/voice parts, and opinions about assigning fach. The survey should last approximately 15 minutes. There is no monetary compensation.

Laryngologists, singing voice teachers, speaking voice coaches and voice therapists: please help us to understand how mindfulness practices are being utilized by voice practitioners. You can participate in the “Survey of Knowledge, Practice and Application of WHAT’S IN A NAME? Seeking SLPs for a new survey exploring voice therapy terminology! If you are a speech-language pathologist (SLP) or clinical fellow currently providing voice services to adults in any capacity, we hope you’ll consider helping with our study exploring current terminology used by SLPs in voice therapy. Participation consists of completing an anonymous, online survey–roughly 15 minutes in length–that will ask you to provide information about the language and specific terminology you might use when working with clients within voice evaluation or therapy. The study has been approved by the Weill Cornell Medicine Institutional Review Board (IRB). Eligibility: If you are a licensed SLP or SLP clinical fellow currently providing voice evaluation and/or therapy services to adult clients in English, you qualify to participate in this study. Participation is completely voluntary and you may discontinue at any time without consequence.
